The battle technically begins the night before as mounted scout units move around the town's east and west meeting in the north cutting or destroying anything that looks like a power line or communications line and taking posts on the roads both paved and unpaved leading from the settlement. Clashes with nearby locals nearly alert the settlement of Dorvan Farms but by the time alarm reaches it's authorities it had already been encircled, if only thinly. By morning the first mechanized units are pushing into the town proper as law enforcement responds to the disturbance and while local TRDF units are alerted and rush to the settlement's arsenal, some reaching it early some only after the IFOR has begun to siege its grounds. Overall less than a third of the TRDF unit manages to acquire anything beyond light arms and vehicles before they're forced to destroy their stocks in place.
The battle rages for the better part of the day, the overwhelmed local defense quickly pushed out of the center of the settlement and only barely manages to hold the northern outskirts, some of their number detaching to punch a hole in the encirclement and allow civilians to evacuate. By nightfall they're forced to withdraw and what was supposed to be a mechanized battalion is little more than a beat up company and some surviving organic units.
While the remnants of Dorvan Farm's territorial defense battalion retreat to the north, stalling and blocking attempts by the IFOR to reach civilian convoys further up the road. While this first attacking mechanized formation continues that chase an entire regiment of motorized troops with some armored support moves to the east and attacks the settlement of Del's City at dawn. Alerted from Dorvan Farms it's own battalion is dug in and manages to trade themselves for evacuation time far more effectively.
