The Verk is a large caliber handgun employed by the Colonial Pact in various private, civil, and military roles the latter being a favorite of the more experienced and grizzled veterans of the various armed services. Using a caseless chemrail cartridge and the associated boost of having a secondary electromagnetic rail stage as well as the recoil reducing features of such things it allows the user to put these large caliber rounds on target with brutal accuracy.

One of the older handgun designs on the Colonial Pact market it still remains one of the most powerful. Chambered in a magnetically saboted cartridge of nearly half an inch and with a variety of loadings the revolver remains among he most powerful personal weapons one can acquire within the Pact. Its simplicity (by Pact standards) as well as a relatively mild recoil thanks to the impulse suppression system has made it a favorite among old hands who don't mind its rather small five shot capacity. Trading the larger magazines of more conventional pistols for the simple fact that one does not get up from a 400 plus grain weighted projectile. This combined with the ample shielding of the pistol's electronics against outside threats such as EMP and various exotic means that can be a detriment to the weapon's operation make it a popular 'backup' weapon for exo-suit and power armor operators via the pistol's more exotic cartridge loads.

A large brutal looking implement and a clear throwback to the ancient times where the 'wheelgun' was the symbol of ones ability to conduct business. It has the classic lines of a revolver with its large five shot cylinder, the classic hammer, and the slow arching grip. However its forward section features a barrel encased in the machinery of a linear EM acceleration rail and the counter recoil system. Its potential for powerful static discharges cautioned with a small warning bolt on both sides of this barrel. The top of the weapon begins with its raised rear sight moving forward to the blade of the front sight mounted between the pistol's compensating porting.

Below are listed and described the various mechanisms and interface systems of the Verk revolver system.

• Weapon Action Mechanism - The Verk is a double action/single action linear electromagnetically boosted revolver using mostly mechanical means to work its action. While the ammunition is still electrically fired, the rotation of the cylinder is still entirely mechanical. The double action/single action option is still carried out by whether or not the user has drawn back the handgun's hammer.
• Linear Counter Recoil System - An inbuilt moving counterweight to reduce the force of the weapon's recoil on the user, it is powered and operated by the same system that gives he pistol its EM boost.
• Loading/Unloading Mechanism - The revolver employs a swing arm cylinder, meaning via a small push button release on the left side of the weapon you release the cylinder and it swings out to the left of the weapon. Due to its caseless nature there will be nothing left in the chamber allowing the user to either use a speed loader or insert the rounds individually. Using a release at the front part of the swing arm the cylinder can be detached and swapped for a fully loaded cylinder.
• Rails - While not standard a modifications kit can be purchased that allows for the mounting of weapons rails below the barrel forward of the trigger and another mounting point above the cylinder also allows for the mounting of rails.
• Firing Modes - Double Action or Single Action
• Powercells - There are two sources of power for the handgun's on board systems, the first being built into the grip of the revolver and serves to feed the gun's computer control system for the linear boost and the recoil damping system. The second is built into the pistols cylinders, this cell feeds the actual linear acceleration system in the pistol's forward housing.
• SV90 Standard Lightweight Shielding - SV90 type applique is used on the inside of the pistol's frame to act as a dampener against exotic particles and waveforms which may damage the weapon's operating mechanisms.

• Magazine Release - The release for the cylinder's swing arm is a push button style device behind the cylinder's frame on the left side of the revolver. Additionally when fully swung out from the revolvers frame another button at the front of the swing arm can allow the user to detach the cylinder entirely and quickly swap in a loaded cylinder.
• Weapon Status Displays - On both sides of the grip where the polymer texture meets the frame are two simple colored LED lights, when green the weapon's on board power supply is full. When the red LED is on the user is down to the last cylinder's worth of power until the weapon becomes conventional caseless revolver.
