The Colonial Guard

The Colonial Guard Corps, or simply 'The Guard', is a branch of the United American military that is composed of thousands of common template planetary defense militias. These operate as semi-autonomous local units under a loose central umbrella and are intended to serve as localized point defense forces in the event of a planetary invasion that can operate without a central command and control authority. Personnel wise they are composed of a 'high-low' mixture; the low being civil service volunteers who opted to pick up arms rather than the other colonial pursuits mandated by the CS program. The others are veterans of the various other services who sign on to act as low grade officers and senior NCOs for both training and commanding the civil service personnel in the event of conflict or activation in exchange for a stipend.

• Enforcement and Security of United American law and order in crisis areas.

• Augmentation to United American Army units in the event of personnel shortages or wide scale planetary conflict.
