A family of 50mm diameter launched munitions employed by the Colonial Pact Trade Alliance as a standardized launched caseless grenade system. Capable of a myriad of programable features including different fusing times and launching velocities the 54A8 makes up one potent part of the Pact's arsenal.

The 54A8 family of 50mm diameter grenades employ a common caseless propellant base which uses a insensitive chemical which can only be triggered by a specific electrical impulse. Additionally this impulse determines the velocity of the munition based on the impulse employed to trigger the propellant allowing the launching system to launch in low, moderate, or high pressure modes.

The following are unguided 50mm lethal munitions employed by the Colonial Pact and their client states.

The standard grenade of a high explosive fragmentation type primarily intended for anti-material and anti-personnel use.

• Damage Description - A general purpose high explosive grenade with both blast and fragmentation effects, effective against both armored and unarmored targets albeit with differing effectiveness in blast radius.

A high explosive dual purpose fragmentation grenade tipped with a chemical HEAT warhead allowing it to both be used against armor and against regular area targets.

• Damage Description - A larger general purpose grenade with both an explosive and a HEAT warhead at the tip to provide the grenade a degree of armor penetration. Effectively allowing the user to engage both area targets and armor targets.

A large bore caseless shotshell loaded with 20-pellets of 00 (0.33 in) depleted uranium buckshot, primarily intended for large groups of soft targets or xenoform threats.

• Purpose - Medium Anti-Personnel Damage per Pellet
• Lethal Radius for an Unprotected Human - 2.5 m diameter circle at 50 meters.
• Damage Description - Due to its moderate velocity the buckshot doesn't have much in the way of armor piercing characteristics however it is quite effective against soft or lightly armored targets, at close range against such targets it is quite simply devastating.

A solid cell fusion-plasma device intended for use against heavier armor or entrenched positions, it employs a solid plasma fuel cell with a single use high energy EM compression capacitor and force orienting field generator. Mostly intended for exo-suit or power armor use it still finds its way into the hands of regular infantry looking to employ it against armored vehicles.

• Damage Description - A solid fuel plasma warhead that can be employed in a general area of effect blast or in a concentrated high density plasma jet for anti-armor use. Both still produce the same AOE effects due to the nature of weapons grade high density plasma and the result concussion and blast effects it causes in a standard breathable atmosphere.

A dedicated area of effect grenade, the PFT or proximity fused thermobaric is an airburst type weapon for use against massed infantry or targets firing from inside buildings or prepared positions. It employs a solid fuel fusion device to flash heat a large volume of air to produce a sudden and explosive force and a powerful concussive shockwave.
