Colonial Pact Laser Initiated Staged Solid Fuel Thermonuclear Motor (LISTM)

The LISTM is a Colonial Pact drive system which is cheap to construct and fairly easy to maintain, primarily serving as a propulsive unit in munitions or lightweight single use type craft.

General Information

While found in a variety of scales and output levels the construction of this type of system remains relatively the same. It is a solid fuel source, typically meta-stable metallic hydrogen milled into a hollow cylinder, and a moving containment/ignition assembly which slowly devours the fuel via a laser initiated fusion reaction. The resulting superheated plasma propelling the system the motor is mounted on or inside of. Unlike their conventional chemical counterparts the motor can be shutdown and reignited as needed.

Availability and Sales

'LISTM' type systems are primarily used on Colonial Pact Trade Alliance military, civil security, and commercial vessels and platforms. However propulsion systems of this type are often provided to client states or trusted private interests.
