Kingdom of Gallipor

The kingdom of Gallipor is governed by a Thar. Each Thar is elected for life. When the previous Thar dies, a council formed of all the shir(=clan/tribe) heads of the land is gathered. A new Thar is then elected. It is very common for the same shir to be in charge (have a Thar elected from their own) for multiple generations, as the Thar tends to favoritize its own shir both in wealth and political power during his rule. The other shirs are allowed a degree of independance on their land, but any conflict between two shirs must be brought in front of the Thar for him to judge. The Thar holds an iron grip over the different shirs, generally in the form of hostages forced to join the Thar's personal guard.

As each shir is virtually independent, the laws may vary. However, a core of laws set by the Thar must be followed.

The kingdom is culturally separated in 2 regions:

  • The Golden Valleys, northern half.
  • This place has always been extremely fertile, with lush forests and lively rivers all around. However, this fertile land has also brought a lot of conflicts. As such, fortresses are very common and ruins even more.
  • The wealthier south (must think of a name).
  • The south has always been a busy trade road, despite the hot and dry climate brought by the winds of the desert separating Gallipor and Lebia. Clean water is hard to come by, and is fiercely guarded by the land's inhabitants, be it human or animal in nature.
