RV-404T 'Ghoul' Light Utility Drop/Gunship Platform

A light three engine utility dropship originally designed by the Helsegan Commonwealth, it is now widely produced and employed throughout the Colonial Pact in both civil and military uses. Its roles include light transport, reconnaissance, airborne command and control, and general air/orbital assault operations.

About the Ghoul Dropship

General information and specifications of the Ghoul dropship.

Key Features

  • Atmospheric and vacuum operations capable.
  • Atmospheric reentry capable.
  • Two winglets with up to six hardpoint mounts for a wide variety of weapons or utility systems.
  • Multi-mode frame mounted semi-rigid plasma cannon systems for area defense.
  • Two sliding door entry points for fast roping or general 'jump' troop insertions with folding door gun systems.
  • FTL Jump Capability.

Mission Specialization

  • Orbit to Surface or Space to Installation Assault, the dropship generally configured to fight its way in, support its troops and then fight its way out.
  • Utility transport, attachment points allow it to carry light cargo loads or vehicles.

Launchers and Munitions

  • 2x Hull Mounted Micro/Mini Munition Launch Cells

Shipboard Systems

The following are the ship's internal systems, the primary being the power, propulsion, electronics and support systems.

Power and Propulsion

The dropship has a seperate power and propulsion system consisting of a single on board fusion reactor with a fission type long lived battery system to provide startup power. Its drive system consists of three primary fusion-plasma systems with one being dedicated to vertical maneuvering and two more for primary forward propulsion.

Shipboard Electronics

Sensor Array

  • Forward Oriented Radar
  • Multi-Antenna Search and Threat Prediction Radar
  • LIDAR System
  • Passive ELINT System
  • Combined Spacial Navigation and Orientation System

Mean Average Active Sensor Range - Target transient detection up to 140 astronomical units, high definition capable of positive target identification typically falls at 80 astronomical units depending on astrological conditions.
Mean Average Passive Sensor Range - Target transient detection up to 190 astronomical units, high definition capable of positive target identification typically depends on conditions and the size of a target. For a vessel comparable to the Fromm-class it can detect and identify up to 100 astronomical units away depending on conditions on what sort of activities the vessel is carrying out.

Electronic Warfare Systems

Grom-1 Active Jammer

A powerful shipboard multispectral jamming system that can operate in either a general emission mode or in a selective narrow focus mode. The Grom-3 is primarily targeted against hostile ship, strikecraft, and guided munitions as a means to confuse or simply burn out sensors employs to detect and track targets using the various waveforms of the electromagnetic spectrum. Its effectiveness can vary due to ambient conditions as well as the quality of enemy electronic counter-countermeasures.

Braza-2M Active Decoy Launcher

A factory sealed six shot launcher system that employs the starship scale mobile decoy drone system, it is used as a way to either enlarge the ships sensor signature by having them fly in close formation or as a means to distract or decoy away incoming strikecraft or ordinance. The latter of which can be done with either a straight line run, a pattern, or in a random adapative fashion depending on the enemy response to it. The Fromm has a total of six of these box launchers strategically mounted on the hull surface to provide full coverage from all the main ship approaches.

Veber-21 Flare and Chaff Launcher

Consisting of individual eighty cell 100mm diameter munition tubes, each box launcher is loaded with half and half of each type of munition (chaff and maneuvering flares). Each flare can burn for up to two minutes and each chaff munition is capable of expanding out to a radius of two kilometers in zero-gravity conditions.
