====== Colonial Pact High Energy Waveform Detection and Ranging System (HEWDRS) =====
A passive electromagnetic sensor system employed by various Colonial Pact platforms, the HEWDRS type systems are used to detect, identify, and determine the bearing of high energy electromagnetic sources with a heavy bias toward gamma ray and x-ray emissions but can be used to detect other forms of high energy radiation. Typically composed of a cluster of sensors performs it's role much like the [[colonial_pact:technologies:sensor_standards:hyperoptical]] often being used in the same 'overlapping' sensor image method for the detection of objects or possible hostile targets. Like other passive systems it is limited in range by the waveforms it is designed to detect, the result being that it is limited by light lag.
