The 'Stangerakete' or 'Rod Rifle' is a man-portable electromagnetic rail-rifle system developed by Rostov & Kriegler Armaments as a clean sheet weapon intended for augmented, exo-suit, or power armor equipped personnel. As such weight was not classified as a major issue in the design resulting in a system in a similar mass class to most caselesss GPMGs in common service. However without this restriction in place its engineers where able to create a weapon tuned to the needs of heavier troop types as well as increasing its endurance and longevity against the rigors of combat service both on the ground and in space. This combined with a respectable magazine capacity, a very high velocity projectile of various types, and flexible firing modes make it an effective companion to heavier troop types or those doing more clandestine operations in need of heavier firepower. 

A complex machine built around a computer controlled feed system in the rear and a 'hot' rail system in the front, it is fed and powered by a combined powercell and 75-round drum magazine. A secondary power cell exists for keeping the weapon's operational system active between magazine loadings in the form of a screw in cylindrical power pack located inside the pistol grip. The helicoil magazine ejection is drop free and accomplished by pressing the release just under the trigger, charging the weapon is done via a mechanical lever located forward of the main receiver this can be flipped to either side of the weapon.

>A slide type four position system located on the right side of the weapon above the trigger group, it moves from safe, to semi, to burst, to auto.

>Located on both sides of the rifle forward of the trigger group, it displays the weapon's overall condition in a color coded manner with number read outs for powercell status and remaining ammunition. A single display is located behind the endpoint of the rail system and only displays remaining ammunition.

>A plasma flash reducing brake that cuts the bright blue muzzle exhaust of the weapon by nearly 80 percent, it also serves as a mounting point for the dedicated bayonet system of the Stangerakete.
