Military and Security Entities of the Rothian Imperial Realm

Royal Guard Cadre

Royal Protector Corps

Chosen from the ranks of both the Guards Regiment and the Capital Guard based on their qualifications and unique characteristics. The Royal Protector Corps is responsible for the day to day protection of the Royal Family and its various properties and offices. Due to the various needs and levels of protection required they maintain both undercover operatives that can blend in with a crowd or show no obvious signs of being a threat to a would be attacker and open heavily armed body guards and a variance in between.

Capital Guard

Due to the varying loyalties and interests both within the two main branches of the Rothian military and the various provincial guards the capital city of Roth is guarded and defended by its own specially selected force under the command of the Royal Family. A garrison force, typically manned by selected volunteers from the army and navy, it is mostly composed of 'leg' infantry and motorized units with some air units intended to operate in and around the City of Roth.

Royal Guards Regiment

Effectively a self contained combined arms Provincial Guard force selected from volunteers from the Rothian Army, it acts as the Royal Family's personal house guard in matters beyond the capability of the Royal Protector Corps and is the primary 'Guard' unit for the capital province. Due to its importance for the security of the main province Imperial Realm they are typically equipped with the best systems available and are often used for testing prototypes or newly acquired lost technologies.

Imperial Rothian Army

Infantry Corps
Uniform - Normal Issue

Shorthand Note: The federal 'leg' infantry force of the Rothian military body, composed of both 'foot' and motorized units. These divisions and their trailing logistical tail make up the bulk of the Rothian army and serve as a general 'hammer' for the taking and holding of territory. They are generally augmented with armored corps units when possible to both reduce casualties as well as increase overall unit strength in the attack.

Armored Corps
Uniform - Normal Issue

Shorthand Note: The 'elite' of the Rothian infantry outside of those that defend the capital, these are wholly either mechanized infantry or tank units but often operate side by side in a manner akin to Soviet motor rifle divisions or US armored cavalry units. Fast moving, well armed, and well supported by their own organic firepower. If the Infantry Corps is the hammer then the Armored Corps is the spear point.

Jump Corps
Uniform - Normal Issue

Shorthand Note: An elite air mobile (either using airship or 'fastship' assets of their own or loaned from the Imperial Air Fleet) light infantry outfit intended for rapid assault against territory or positions that are difficult to access for regular forces or are well behind hostile lines of defense. They are often used for precursor and preparation attacks on well defended areas before other Rothian units are sent into the frey and tend to take murderous losses as a result. Due to this it is a voluntary force with better pay than the other branches of the army.

Rail Corps
Uniform - Normal Issue

Shorthand Note: A group that is one part engineering and one part military, this corps is responsible for the defense, construction of new, and maintenance of existing rail lines within the Rothian Realm. They are also responsible for most military logistical traffic via rail as well as its defense.

Armored trains included.

They're made up of the numerous larger scale flying craft from a steampunk to a dieselpunk style. So think armored zeppelins, flying battleships, some ancient antigravity assisted platforms and a myriad of other craft that don't use wings to fly. They serve as a heavy means of support over the continent to provide naval grade firepower to areas the navy can't reach as well as a superheavy lift and transport capacity.

Imperial Air Jump Corps

Shorthand Note: One part Marine one part paratrooper, they serve as installation security, shipboard security, and an airship to ground assault and security force for the Imperial Air Corps. They will often work hand in hand with the Imperial Army's Jump Corps on operations acting as landing zone assault troops and security for established ones.
