Caseless Semi-Saboted Pistol Cartridge

A small diameter high velocity caseless round designed to be employed in both regular caseless firearms as well as those employing a linear or rail dual stage system. It is comprised of a rounded propellant 'brick' with a mechanically detonated primer at the rear and the projectile embedded inside. A pair of magnetic engagement sabots are wrapped around the round and will fall away upon exiting the barrel.

The M1 FMJ-SF or Full Metal Jacket Semi Frangible is the primary pistol cartridge employed by the Colonial Pact nations. Consisting of a copper jacketed lead projectile with a thinned forward profile jacket. It is designed to maintain just enough structural integrity to penetrate a target before the round begins to deform and yaw through the target if not outright fragment inside the wound channel. The result is greater wound damage while reducing the overall capability to penetrate barriers or armor.

The M2 BT-JHP or Ballistic Tip Jacketed Hollow Point is a semi copper jacketed projectile intended for use against soft or lightly armored targets. Using a ceramic ballistic tip to both reduce the drag of the projectile as well as enhance projectile expansion on impact as well as aiding in penetration. Due to its lower chance of over penetration this round is often favored on board starships and space habitats.
